The Board Retailers Association
(BRA),the preeminent non-profit organization representing over 550
specialty action sport retailers, has named Vicki Vasil their new communications and events manager.

Vasil comes to the Board Retailers Association from Surf Expo, where she served five years as Boardsports Marketing Manager. There she developed branding and advertising, produced events and managed partnerships, forging strong relationships throughout the industry. In her new role she will be responsible for planning BRA's annual events, program development and member recruitment, in addition to liaising with partner associations, manufacturers and vendors.

“Vicki's enthusiasm for action sports combined with her strong background and education in marketing make her a natural fit to take on this BRA role,” says BRA President Mike Duncan.

A snowboarder and surfer, Vasil graduated with a B.S. in Advertising from Syracuse University. After building a strong foundation in retail marketing at Macy's East, she went on to obtain a Master's in Sports Management at Springfield College. Before Surf Expo she founded her own freelance action sports marketing company Powder Fresh Ideas, received hands-on retail experience at a snowboard shop, and worked on a product launch for SoBe.

“Vicki is passionate about serving the action sports community and stoked to work on the front lines for boardsports retailers. She is poised to help take BRA to the next level,” says Duncan.

Vasil will be working alongside with Elizabeth Peavy and Adrienne Belk.

The Board Retailers Association (BRA) is a non-profit trade association representing almost 3,000 action sport storefronts across the country.
