The City of Lake Forest, CA. will discuss its proposed ban on BMX pegs at its Etnies Skatepark at a meeting Tuesday night (April 5) after apparel and footwear brand Etnies collected more than 1,000 signatures on a petition  opposing the ban.

As of Tuesday, April 5, 1,139 people had signed the petition, according to etnies' website.

The company helped finance construction of the park, now undergoing a 16,000-square-foot expansion, in 2003.

“Etnies was shocked and disappointed to discover that the City of Lake Forest banned BMX pegs from their public skatepark,” reads a post on the company's. “In fact, we heard nothing of this proposed ban until AFTER it happened and it should be noted that the etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest, although it bears our name, is managed and run by the City of Lake Forest, not by etnies or any etnies personnel.”
