Black Diamond Equipment Ltd. announced the promotion and hiring of several staff at its headquarters in Salt Lake City and the addition of two athletes to its climbing team.

Jeffrey Wammer has been added to the product team. Wammer brings more than a decade of footwear experience and will lead future R&D efforts for BDs growing ski boot category. Wammer most recently served as Director of Development at END Footwear and prior to that as VP of product at Montrail.

Other staff moves include the hiring of Susannah Pratt as logistics coordinator and promotion of Mike Duncan to sales rep for the Southern California and nearby SW regions.

On the marketing side, Adam Chamberlain has been promoted to VP of marketing. Chamberlain, who came from Patagonia in August 2006, was originally hired as BD’s brand manager.

It gives me great pleasure and pride to share the news that Adam Chamberlin has been promoted to BDs VP of marketing, says Peter Metcalf, Black Diamond CEO / President & Co-Founder. Over the past three and a half years Adam has proven himself as a solid team builder; consensus manager; a very thoughtful person, and one who does not shrink in front of very large challenges. The only thing greater than BDs future challenges, are our future opportunities and I am confident in Adams ability to help BD transform them into a bolder tomorrow.

Finally,  Black Diamond also added two new ambassadors to their climbing athlete team: Barry Blanchard, known for his prolific alpine ascents around the world, and Paul Robinson, a rising star in the discipline of bouldering.

Blanchard and Robinson will be solid company with Will Gadd, Alex Honnold, Tommy Caldwell, Ines Papert, Colin Haley, Adam Ondra, Katie Brown, Nico Favresse, Fred Nicole, Rolo Garibotti, Sonnie Trotter  Paxti Usobaiga and the rest of Black Diamond’s strong global team.
