Play Outdoors, a local retailer focused on getting kids outdoors in Bend, OR, will sponsor Kevin Farron, as a delegate to the 2010 Outdoor Nation Youth Summit and Festival in New York City June 19th – 20th, 2010.

The first-ever, two-day event in famed Central Park will ignite young people from across the country with one common mission: to champion the outdoors and start a youth-driven movement.

As a delegate, Farron will serve as a leader to develop a national agenda, set priorities and outline strategies to champion the outdoors for the youth of our nation.

Play Outdoors and Farron share ideals in the education, motivation and leadership of families to create a greater emphasis on natural play and environmental protection.

“We believe in supporting an event designed to encourage families to get out and experience the natural world. Kevin shares our perspective that it is important for leaders to educate families on the mental and physical benefits of outdoor recreation. We are confident he will represent Play Outdoors proudly as a delegate during the Youth Summit and Festival,” says Sarah Laufer, CEO of Play Outdoors.

Through entertainment, education, engagement and action Play Outdoors will support Farron and the Outdoor Nation mission to reconnect youth with the outdoors locally in the Bend, Oregon community and nationwide.
