Batters Up USA, formerly Play Ball USA, will host its annual membership meeting and board meeting in conjunction with the annual American Baseball Coaches Association convention Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 beginning at 9 a.m. PST at the San Diego Marriott and Marina.
On the agenda for the meeting will be the selection of board members for 2009 as there will be three new members replacing those three who have served for three years (all other members are eligible for re-election). Officers also will be elected for 2009, and our program priorities will be set.
Batters Up reported a very successful year in 2008, with just over 8,000 kids playing ball in 37 programs across 18 states, more than double the total participants from a year ago, while the total number of prgrams increased from 17 last year.
A program with Summer P&R Camps SB in Dallas, TX drew in the largest number of participants, with 1,250 kids coming out and getting on the diamond.
