ASICS America, maker of athletic footwear and apparel under the ASICS and Onitsuka Tiger names, is moving its corporate headquarters to a larger space in Irvine, CA to accommodate its growing business.

“Our operations have grown and we need more space to accommodate future growth,” says Richard Bourne, president and COO. “The new office allows for a larger warehouse, more room for product development, a formal showroom and an even larger gym for our employees.”

The new headquarters is just a few miles east of its current location and will add an additional 11,000 square feet of space. The move is scheduled for September 19, 2008 with offices back up and running on September 22, 2008.

The new office will utilize sustainable and recycled materials for the lobby, work spaces and in the break room. VOC paints will be used to reduce toxins in the work environment and the new building has a deconstructed perimeter to allow for more natural light. The heights of cube walls have also been lowered to reduce expenses and material usage, and to encourage more collaboration between workers and management.
