Adidas has hired Jan Heinemann, Bayer’s former U.S. head of law, patents and compliance, as the company’s newest general counsel, according to law.com.

Heinemann will start at Adidas on November 26 and be responsible for legal and compliance affairs.

He’ll replace Paul Ehrlich, who has served as the interim general counsel after Frank Dassler retired earlier this year.

Kasper Rorsted, Adidas CEO, said in a statement, “We have been able to win over a competent general counsel for Adidas who is experienced in dealing with the legal issues of a globally active company.”

“Adidas will benefit from his extensive experience and expertise on its further path of profitable growth,” he added.
