Eastern Illinois University agreed to a new five-year apparel contract with Adidas that runs through 2024.

The deal is expected to pay EIU more than its current contract with the company, which was set to expire after the 2019 football season.

EIU initially signed a partnership with Adidas in 2014, switching from Nike. All EIU athletic teams will continue to receive their uniforms, practice gear, shoes and other accessories.

“Adidas is one of the top athletic brands in the world and we are excited for Eastern Illinois Athletics to continue our partnership with them,” EIU athletic director Tom Michael said in a release. “For Eastern Illinois to be affiliated with one of the top apparel brands is just one of the many steps needed in attracting the top student-athletes to our programs. As a brand Adidas brings instant recognition along with quality products. Through this partnership extension with Adidas, EIU will be able to continue to improve upon the experience our student-athletes, coaches and fans will have over the next several years.”
