Hibbett Sports Inc. shared plans to raise $100,000 in donations by June 30, 2017 to benefit the American Heart Association.
Hibbett Sports will also support the local AHA chapter by serving as Birmingham Heart Walk’s “Start and Finish line” sponsor, with many Hibbett employees taking part in the Heart Walk itself on June 24, 2017.
Hibbett Sports Inc. hopes to raise $100,000 in donations by June 30, 2017 to benefit the American Heart Association. All 1,080 stores in the sporting goods chain will accept donations at their checkouts. Donations also can be made online at hibbett.com/philanthropy. The company is set to support the Birmingham, AL chapter of AHA with employees taking part in a Heart Walk on June 24, 2017.
“We are thrilled that companies support the American Heart Association by offering donation opportunities to their customers,” said American Heart Association Board Chairman Al Royse. “Point-of-sale and online fundraising campaigns like this are key to helping the American Heart Association raise money to help reduce cardiovascular diseases and stroke.”
This is the fourth year that Hibbett Sports has supported the local walk. Hibbett has been a national supporter since 2015. AHA’s annual fundraising events help promote physical activity and bring awareness about the importance of heart health while raising funds for much-needed research and treatment options for those already living with heart disease.
“Hibbett Sports is proud to once again support the American Heart Association with our shared goal of promoting healthy and active lifestyles,” said Sarah Sharp Wangaard, VP of marketing for Hibbett Sports. “By working together, we can make a positive impact in the neighborhoods we serve and ultimately help save lives with the money we raise.”
Hibbett Sports will be accepting AHA donations through June 30, 2017 in person at all store locations or online at the website shown above. The 2017 campaign marks the first time customers have been able to donate online. Donations can be made at the checkout in any store location.
