TYR Sport – manufacturer of competitive swim and triathlon gear – has partnered with the inaugural Escape Triathlon Series – a new qualifying series for the 2018 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon. TYR is also sponsoring the 2017 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, taking place June 11 in San Francisco.
For nearly four decades the world’s most elite Olympians, world champions and amateur triathletes have descended on San Francisco to compete in what is now considered one of the most thrilling races in the sport of triathlon. Regularly attracting upwards of 15,000 spectators, the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon continues to be a bucket list race for every athlete. The new qualifying Escape Triathlon Series will provide competitors at multiple levels the chance to expand and strengthen their race calendars in celebrated locations across the nation competing for a coveted slot in the 2018 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.

TYR’s roster of sponsored athletes include Olympic gold medalist and Ironman world champion Jan Frodeno, Ironman world champion Mirinda Carfrae, Ironman and Ironman 70.3 world champion Craig Alexander and U.S. Olympian Sarah True.
Notable swimmers on the roster include Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte, Olympic medalist Matt Grevers and Olympic gold medalist Dana Vollmer.
