The Boston Marathon is coming! See limited-edition models honoring the legendary event from Adidas, Saucony, Brooks, Asics, Nike, Skechers, Altra, New Balance and Oofos.

With the Boston Marathon set to take place on April 17, a wide range of limited-edition styles have again arrived celebrating the city of Boston and the legendary race.
Brooks, with its Launch 4 model, brought back the mighty red lobster, a symbol of the New England seafaring industry, while Nike, with a Free model, played on the shamrock in honor of the city’s Irish roots.
Saucony drew inspiration from the historic Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile path through downtown Boston that passes 16 landmarks significant to the American Revolution. Coming in Liberty Red and Revolutionary Red, the outsole and sockliner depict the Freedom Trail’s double-lined red brick route. Golden lettering on upper and a gold-flecked full-length Everun midsole allude to the in-ground bronze medallions along the trail.
Adidas, which has sponsored the Boston Marathon since 1989, brought out a stately blue-and-gold colorway with its Adizero Adios model. The mythical unicorn logo of the Boston Athletic Association is featured on the upper part of the tongue.
New Balance went bold with the purple Fresh Foam Zante v3 Boston. The color is “interpreted as the color of royalty to honor athletic achievement” and aligns with the brand’s “The Is Boston” campaign focused on Boston’s elite athletes across sports.
Asics’ DynaFlyte comes with a patriotic red, white and blue look. The red hits in the heel mesh print, collar lining print and out sole to frame the blues. A passport/stamp inspired print highlights the April 17, 2017 Boston Marathon date and other Boston attractions such as lobster, lighthouse, Boston terrier, the Citgo sign, boats and the Paul Revere statue. Other shoes from Skechers, Altra and Oofos, the recovery shoe leader, found simpler but louder ways to scream Boston.
Here’s a slide show of 2017’s limited-edition releases headed to Boston.
