Reebok last week encouraged New Yorkers to put their out-of-offices on and hit the gyms at lunchtime with a fitness offer that encouraged physical activity to break up the work day. The fitness brand put on challenges at set CrossFit boxes throughout Manhattan with workers able to work up a sweat in return for a free gourmet lunch from local restaurateur ‘Hu Kitchen’.
A bespoke Reebok x Hu Kitchen food truck was located at CrossFit boxes this week offering a free #PowerLunch to those that earned it. As well as rewarding existing members of each box who completed a workout, free fitness challenges took place at every location rewarding those that used their lunch break to get fit.
Reebok Head of Global Brand Marketing Yan Martin said “#PowerLunch is our way of trying to get New Yorkers off their desk chairs and on their feet on their lunch break. Our recent survey results showing the lack of exercise the average human does surprised all of us here at Reebok. We want to encourage people to find the time to get out an exercise, no matter how long it’s for.”
Working in partnership with Hu Kitchen, Reebok rewarded over 300 lunches to those that took part, with hundreds more taking part in short challenges on the streets of Manhattan. New York based Hu Kitchen epitomizes Reebok’s ‘Be More Human’ way of living, offering a no-compromise approach to cooking unprocessed healthy food.
A recent survey by carried out by Reebok as part of the brand’s 25,915 campaign highlighted that the average person spends less than 1% of their life exercising – a figure Reebok aims to increase.
#PowerLunch participants also received promotional codes for 20% off Reebok apparel if they shared an image of their session across social media using the hashtag #PowerLunch.
