Fischer Skis US LLC has restructured its leadership and operations in a bid to better position the brand for success in the very competitive U.S. ski and hockey markets.
Adam Sink has been appointed to the position of Alpine Product Manager. Sink has extensive experience both on the retail and vendor sides of the ski industry working with Rossignol for the past 8 years. His hiring reinforces the commitment to bring Fischer’s product development team in closer connection with the American ski market and simultaneously grow the alpine sales.
Another recent addition to the team is Chris Gilbert to the position of Rocky Mountain Sales and Promotions. Gilbert will base out of the Vail Valley in Colorado and enhance Fischer’s retail and promotional efforts in the Rocky Mountain States. Gilbert most recently worked for Christy Sports as a Hardgoods Manager in Avon, CO but also has experience representing ski and boot manufacturers in the field.
Fischer is also excited to announce that Bernhard Harbec has been hired as a strategic consultant to establish the Fischer Brand in the USA Hockey market. Harbec has extensive experience and deep connections in the Hockey industry and will perfectly match the strategic vision for the Fischer Brand, which has manufactured high quality hockey sticks for decades but limited distribution to Europe until now. Harbec most recently worked for Sherwood as VP of Sales.
Along with these strategic additions to the Fischer team, it has also been announced that CEO Willy Booker has decided to leave Fischer to pursue new opportunities that will allow him to be closer to his family. A search for his replacement is already underway and Dave Kuhman, currently VP of Finance and Operations, has been appointed Interim President until a suitable replacement is found. Matt Berkowitz will serve as lead for the Alpine Division, Steve Reeder will continue in his role leading the Nordic Division and Bernhard Harbec will focus on developing the Hockey Division.
