Mammut has voluntarily recalled its Skywalker Pro Via Ferrata and Skywalker Pro Via Ferrata Set for a potential issue with the locking mechanism of the carabiners. The company has been selling the equipment since 2023.
As a result, Mammut has recalled all potentially affected Skywalker Pro Via Ferrata and Skywalker Pro Via Ferrata Sets and will issue a refund to all customers impacted by this recall.
Mammut reported that it has notified national market surveillance authorities regarding this voluntary recall.
The potential product malfunction stems from an assembly line issue. As a result, in some cases, the carabiners of the Mammut Skywalker Pro Via Ferrata and Skywalker Pro Turn Via Ferrata Sets could open without consumers pressing the plastic latch, failing to meet EN standard requirements.
Mammut asks consumers who own the affected products to stop using the equipment and follow the recall procedures to receive a full refund. Return shipping is free of charge.

- 2040-02840 Skywalker Pro Via Ferrata Set
- 2040-02850 Skywalker Pro Turn Via Ferrata Set
- 2040-02870 Skywalker Pro Via Ferrata Package
This information is on the product packaging or the textile label inside the Energy Absorber Package below the zipper. If consumers purchased a package, the other products in the package are not affected by this recall. Mammut is asking consumers not to return helmets and harnesses.
