Pure Hockey, the destination retailer for hockey equipment, apparel and accessories, has acquired Off The Bench, headquartered in Omaha, NE. This strategic move marks Pure Hockey’s first entry into Nebraska and underscores the company’s commitment to serving the needs of hockey players across the U.S. and continued growth trajectory.

With this acquisition, Pure Hockey also operates a network of 81 retail locations across 30 states nationwide.

“We’re excited to welcome Off The Bench into the Pure Hockey family,” said David Nectow, CEO of Pure Hockey. “This expansion highlights the continued growth of hockey in the Midwest and reaffirms our commitment to delivering top-tier products and service to players and fans alike. We look forward to becoming a part of the Nebraska hockey community and supporting its continued development.”

“This is an exciting day for Off The Bench and our customers,” said Chad Wesch, owner of Off The Bench. “Finding an acquisition partner in Pure Hockey allows us to provide a more expansive selection of gear and resources while maintaining the same personal touch and customer service that has been at the heart of our business. We are incredibly proud of what we’ve built in Omaha, and we’re looking forward to this next step in our journey with Pure Hockey, ensuring the best possible experience for the local hockey community.”

Off The Bench brings a dedicated customer base to the acquisition. The store’s integration into Pure Hockey’s retail network will provide customers with a broader selection of hockey equipment, training tools, apparel, and accessories, backed by Pure Hockey’s expertise and dedication to the sport.

Pure Hockey’s commitment to hockey extends beyond its retail operations. The company actively supports local youth hockey programs, leagues and teams, fostering growth and development at the grassroots level. By establishing a physical presence in Nebraska, Pure Hockey “aims to strengthen its community engagement efforts and contribute to the overall advancement of hockey in the state,” said the company.

Pure Hockey will host a grand opening event celebrating the acquisition later this year.
