Leica has appointed Ryan Holm as director of marketing for sport optics.

“With over 20 years of experience in marketing, media and brand development within the hunting and outdoor sectors, Holm brings an impressive background in consumer engagement and strategic marketing to his new role. His expertise will help further strengthen Leica’s presence and growth in the U.S. market,” the company said in a media release.

The company said that Holm’s career has fostered authentic consumer connections through traditional and digital marketing channels.

“Leica’s rich heritage is unparalleled in the sport optics world, and it’s our mission to ensure our brand continues to inspire and serve the needs of our customers,” Holm said. “I aim to reignite that passion, ensuring each product and campaign reflects Leica’s deep commitment to excellence, precision, and craftsmanship.”

Holm joined Leica USA’s sports optics division and has now stepped into the leadership role, effective September 2024, as part of Leica’s strategy to reenergize its brand and build on momentum across core verticals such as hunting, birding, and outdoor recreation.

The company said his focus will include revitalizing brand perception, building solid relationships with wholesale and delivering fully integrated marketing campaigns across e-commerce, social media, public relations, and direct sales support.

“In a crowded marketplace, our differentiation comes from a blend of high-level performance, software ecosystems, and emotional connection to our products,” Holm added. “That balance will drive our long-term growth strategy, positioning Leica as the leader in the premium optics space.”

Leica is a German manufacturer of premium optical products, including photographic lenses, binoculars, and rifle scopes.
