Trango, the Colorado-based designer and manufacturer of climbing gear and holds, hired Roy Quanstrom as facility sales coordinator, a new position for the company.
In his role as facility sales coordinator at Trango, Quanstrom will work with the company’s independent sales teams to enhance relationships with commercial gyms in the U.S. and “wall” accounts, which include commercial gyms, rec centers and universities with climbing walls.
“Working with the Trango team and our gym partners is a dream job for me,” said Quanstrom. “I’m very excited about Trango’s climbing hold development, especially with our new line of ABS recyclable holds made from recycled materials. We offer more material options than any other brand, focusing on sustainability, and I’m proud to be part of it.”
Quanstrom brings a strong background in climbing holds and route setting; he is a USAC Level 4 route setter (able to forerun 5.13+ and V9) and has extensive sales and retail experience.
Quantrom has worked as a Trango Holds Shaper since 2020. His hold designs include the Fuegos Calientes and Khans. Quanstrom is also known for his excellent climbing skills.
“Roy is a great addition to our team,” said Trango VP Keith Patterson. “His knowledge and experience with holds and setting, as well as his relationships with setters, mesh well with Trango’s focus on deepening partnerships with gyms.
“Roy’s expertise in leading route setter training clinics also positions him well when training our sales force on the hold market. We have high expectations for Roy and are confident he will be successful. We are excited to have Roy join our team,” concluded Patterwosn.
Founded in Boulder, CO in 1991, Trango is an athlete-driven brand that designs and manufactures climbing equipment. Trango is the sole U.S. distributor of Tenaya climbing shoes.
