Mizuno signed an extension with the ING Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon to remain as the “Official Footwear and Apparel Supplier” for the March 21st race. The ING Georgia Marathon has served as one of Mizuno’s integral running sponsorships over the last three years, since the race debuted in March of 2007.

The ING Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon Health and Fitness Expo inspired by Mizuno will be held at the Georgia Dome in downtown Atlanta on March 19th and 20th.  Mizuno will be providing each participant in the 2010 ING Georgia Marathon with a high performance Mizuno technical t-shirt featuring the official ING Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon logo, and also outfitting each of the approximately 2,000 race volunteers with branded t-shirts.

Mizuno has also partnered with several Metro Atlanta area running specialty stores for the Mizuno “Inspired to Run” Training Programs.  For eight straight Saturdays, beginning January 23rd, Mizuno will host training programs at a different retail location.  Mizuno’s “Run With Us” technical van, featuring two Precision Fit® biomechanical gait analysis terminals, and Mizuno running footwear experts will attend these eight events.  Participating runners will be able to “test ride” Mizuno footwear, and receive select Mizuno apparel and accessory items.  Mizuno will also conduct raffle drawings and exciting giveaways, where runners can enter to win Mizuno footwear, apparel, and accessories. Pace team members will lead these training programs, and runners of all times and abilities are encouraged to attend.

“As part of the Georgia business community and the local running community, we are proud to renew our sponsorship with the ING Georgia Marathon and to continue to support the growth of running in Metro Atlanta, one of the top running markets in the United States,” said Fritz Taylor, Vice President and General Manager for Mizuno USA’s Running Division.  “The ING Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon has served as one of the premier sporting events in the Southeast over the past three years, and we are happy to continue to provide our support to this race and runners throughout this region.”

“We are thrilled to have Mizuno as a returning sponsor of the ING Georgia Marathon,” said Founder and CEO of US Road Sports and Entertainment Group, Greg Laird. “The Mizuno ‘Inspired to Run’ Training Program will be an excellent way for runners of all abilities to prepare for the ING Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon, and is just one example of why their participation is essential in making this a great experience for everyone involved.”

The fourth running of the ING Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon will take place on March 21, 2010 and is expected to draw 15,000 runners and walkers from throughout the Atlanta area.  The race course will travel through 26.2 miles of the Metro Atlanta area’s most interesting and historic areas including the Sweet Auburn District, Inman Park, Decatur, midtown, and downtown.  Along the way, it will pass landmarks including the King Center, Carter Center, Margaret Mitchell House, and the fabulous Fox Theatre.  For more information, visit www.inggeorgiamarathon.com.
