Hi-Tec today has hired Dennis Hochwender as their western regional sales manager, managing the sales team from California to the Rockies.

He brings with him an extensive expertise in the outdoor market stemming from ten years in retail and 19 years as sales manager of an independent rep force serving Columbia Sportswear.

“Joining Hi-Tec Sports USA brings my history in this industry to a full circle.”  Says Dennis Hochwender, “While managing a mountaineering shop in Boulder, CO in 1979 Hi-Tec and the Sierra Sneaker changed the way we looked at lightweight hikers.  Going forward, it will be Hi-Tec’s ion-maskTM that will change the way the industry looks at hydrophobic breathable footwear. I’m excited to be an integral part of that new era.”

In 1979 Dennis began his career in the outdoor specialty retail market.  Once on board with a sales agency in the outdoor industry, Dennis quickly became sales manager to a team of 16 that represented Columbia with a heavy focus on their footwear division. Dennis’ diverse history and passion for the outdoors makes him the perfect fit for Hi-Tec, a brand built to inspire, celebrate and enable the true re-creation of oneself through all outdoor experiences.

Established in 1978, Modesto, CA-based Hi-Tec Sports USA, Inc. pioneered the original lightweight hiking boot. Its parent, privately owned Hi-Tec Sports of the United Kingdom, slls more than 10 milliion pairs of golf, court and outdoor footwear annually and distributes them over 70 countries.
