Adidas plans to introduce a branded line of precision-engineered boxing equipment this fall in the U.S. Century, a leader in combative sports products based in Oklahoma City, OK, will be the US and Canadian distributor.
Adidas said the line of equipment answers to all boxing styles by partnering with Double D, the licensed distributor worldwide for adidas combat sports equipment. The line unveils scientifically designed products that include the moisture wicking technology, Climacool, and new innovations branded as Soft Punch Technology, Aero Punch Technology, and Strap-up Technic.
“The equipment was tested at each step of the design process by professional athletes and coaches from every discipline of boxing. These tests have enabled us to develop technologies that meet the intensive needs of boxers,” said Cédric Dermée, Managing Director of Double D.
Christophe Dessalles, Commercial Director and partner of Double D, said the adidas worldwide licensee for Boxing and Martial Arts product lines explored all options when selecting the best partners in each country.
“We believe that we have found within the Century team the best possible partners for the US and Canadian markets,” said Dessalles. “Century will provide the brand with the greatest exposure and visibility. Our collective experience and application has enthused a spirit that is 'Team adidas.'”
Century will begin line presentations in early April and debut the line for all to see at the SGMA “Spring Market” on June 11th at the Sands Expo & Convention Center.
“Double D (France) has done a remarkable job of linking adidas, one of the greatest brands in the world, to high-tech functional boxing equipment,” said Dan Bower, president of Century. “We are excited to have been given the US and Canadian distributorship for this exciting new line of innovative products.”
