TOMAX Corporation appointed Bernard F. Brennan as Chairman of the Board. An investor to TOMAX for two years, Brennan served as an Executive Board Member and Advisor working closely with CEO, Eric Olafson on the development of Retail.net. Brennans leadership was pivotal in expediting the final solution which represents a major expansion of the companies offering.
Bernie Brennan served in a variety of roles in the retail and supply industries over a 30 year period, 17 of them as a CEO. Brennan began his retail career at Sears where he held a number of merchandising positions as well as serving at Director of Management Development for the retail chain. He was the Chairman & CEO of Sav-A-Stop, one of the largest suppliers of non-food merchandise to the supermarket and convenience store industries for seven years. Subsequent to this role Brennan served as Chairman & CEO of Household Merchandising, a $5 billion retail holding company that included such chains as Vons Supermarket, Coast-to-Coast Stores along with a number of prominent regional furniture chains. As Chairman & CEO of Montgomery Ward Holding Company, a position that he held for 11 years, Brennan led the Retail Group and the Signature Group; one of the largest retailers and direct marketing companies in the U.S. Additionally Bernie Brennan served as Chairman of the National Retail Federation where he received its Gold Medal Award a National Retailer of the Year. Brennan also serves as the Chairman of the Board to eFashionSolutions, LLC.
Brennan has been focused on retail-related and supply chain technology since 1997. He has been an investor and lead director in a number of software technology companies. Included in his portfolio companies have been Spotlight Solutions, Park City Group and Marc Global. Additionally he served as Managing Director of Marketmax and assisted in its merger into SAS Institute, where he continues to serve the retail consultant.
