BIKE Athletic has signed Buffalo Bills linebacker Takeo Spikes, a nine-year veteran and two-time pro bowl linebacker, to be the face of the brand. Spikes endorsement contract is part of the BIKE rebranding effort.
“We are excited to have a player of Takeos caliber as the face of BIKE. Takeo is a player we see ourselves building our brand around as we move forward. In addition, he embodies the edgy athleticism the brand represents” said Chris Passarell, brand manager for BIKE.
Recently, spikes were added as a design element to both BIKE athletic gear and the logo to create a more aggressive, athletic look. BIKE is using this synergy, continuing its commitment to changing its image and reflecting its place as the market leader.
“I am excited about the opportunity to work with BIKE. As the focal point for the brand, I look forward to not only promoting the brand, but influencing the brand based on my experiences and knowledge of what a player is looking for in terms of advanced athletic protection,” said Takeo.
BIKEs association with football combined with Takeos performance on the field and firsthand knowledge of protective and sports medicine products makes him the perfect fit for the brand. He will be able to represent the brand and also participate in product development.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for BIKE and Spikes. Both sides are very excited about this partnership. With BIKE, you have a brand with a rich history that is looking to re-invent itself; with Spikes, you have a player that exudes the need for opponents to want advanced athletic protection when facing him on the field,” said Todd France, president, France Athlete Management Enterprises, who negotiated the deal and represents Spikes.
