Asics signed on as the official athletic performance partner of the first-ever Virgin Sport Festival of Fitness in San Francisco.
The event takes place on October 14 and 15, 2017.
Asics will provide unique activations, special guest appearances and activities with major athletes to celebrate physical fitness at all levels over the course of the weekend.
Participants will be treated to a series of unique experiences at the Asics pop-up in the Go Fit Yourself Lineup at Civic Center, including a carnival style race activation, novelty shop and lounge. Asics athlete and top CrossFit coach Rosario Rios Aguilar, will also make an appearance to lead a “Butts & Guts” workout as participants work their glutes and core to the max. Additionally, participants can fuel up with healthy local food, dance to live music, view art installations and enjoy the spirit and culture of San Francisco.
“As a top fitness brand, we owe it to the community to inspire the next generation by making movement and physical fitness fun and attainable for everyone,” says Gene McCarthy, CEO of ASICS America. “With the fitness category evolving and the downward trend in sports participation – in places like youth sports – Asics is dedicated as a brand to promote, drive and increase participation in sports and the Virgin Sport Fitness Festival is the perfect platform to get people moving, together with truly unique experiences.”
Heading into the festival weekend, Asics will be hosting a participants bib customization station at San Francisco’s iconic retailer, Sports Basement, where attendees will be able to put their own take on the #IMOVEME brand tagline. At the Festival, Asics will continue to encourage San Franciscans to run and move in true performance style, providing co-branded apparel for all participants of the SF Bay Half Marathon and Twin Peaks Mile. Participant can choose their specific limited-edition Virgin Sport x Asics designs at the brand’s retail hub where they can even borrow a new pair of sneakers from an on-site sneaker valet, then go for a spin on an immersive elliptical racer game.
Registration fees start at $29 for the Twin Peaks Climb, and $109 for the Virgin Sport SF Bay Half Marathon. Virgin Sport San Francisco is one of Virgin Sport’s four events in 2017, with three additional events in the greater London area.
