According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds played increased 0.8 percent in August.

The biggest regional gains were seen in West North Central, up 7.8 percent; South Central, 4.8 percent; and East North Central, 3.0 percent.

Declines were seen in South Atlantic, down 4.8 percent; Pacific, 2.6 percent; New England, 2.1 percent; Mountain, 1.0 percent; and Mid Atlantic, 0.5 percent.

Public access play was down 0.2 percent and private course activity was up 4.4 percent.

For the year-to-date period, golf rounds played declined 2.6 percent.
