Zappos.com, along with participating skate brands, is throwing its second annual Rideshop Series skateboard event on Friday, May 16, in downtown Las Vegas. This free event is open to the public and will feature professional skaters, family activities, a concert by Taking Back Sunday, and much more.

“We are always excited to play in Las Vegas and getting the opportunity to play a free all-ages event is a bonus. Should be a fun day watching some skating and live music”

The Zappos Rideshop Series is taking over Fremont St. between Las Vegas Blvd. and 7th St., from 4:00 p.m. PT until 10:00 p.m. PT with activities for kids of all ages. An open skate, board repair, autograph signings and more are open to the community. Many fan favorite professional skaters are invited to compete for cash prizes.

“The Rideshop Series is an event that allows Zappos to bring new and exciting experiences to the downtown Las Vegas community in a way that includes some of our great retail partners,” said Danny Earl, Event Producer at Zappos.com. Participating brands, Macbeth, DVS, Supra, and others will be on site with activations.

Guests of the event will even be treated to a free concert by Taking Back Sunday, featuring music from their new album Happiness Is (released on Hopeless Records March 18, 2014) which debuted at #10 on the Billboard Album Chart, with special guests Idlehands and Mini Death.

“We are always excited to play in Las Vegas and getting the opportunity to play a free all-ages event is a bonus. Should be a fun day watching some skating and live music,” said Eddie Reyes, guitarist for Taking Back Sunday. Taking Back Sunday just completed a sold-out North American Tour.
