Yakima has entered into a new partnership with Grofa Action Sports GmbH, which will assume exclusive distribution of the company’s product line in the DACH Region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), effective August 1, 2025.

In the DACH region, GROFA will serve as the central point of contact for Yakima retailer specialists, providing comprehensive sales and after-sales support.
The company will transition the distribution from Phobos to Grofa on August 1, with Phobos continuing as Yakima’s exclusive distributor for Czechia and Slovakia and serving as Master Distributor for select developing markets in Europe.
The new structure gives Yakima a better position to “serve the unique needs of each region while leveraging Grofa’s proven track record in brand building and customer service,” the company said in a media release.
Thorsten Kochanek, CEO of Grofa, noted, “Many people today take their bikes on vacation as a matter of course; with Yakima, we can support this lifestyle holistically with strong products and reliable service for specialist retailers.”
Following recent investments in regional distribution centers and the expansion of international shipping capabilities, the new business model “builds on Yakima’s global strategy to enhance product accessibility and strengthen local partnerships in the region.”
The first joint presence for the companies will take place at Abenteuer Allrad in Bad Kissingen, followed by Eurobike 2025 in Frankfurt, where Yakima will show the brand product line to the European market.
