Wolverine World Wide, Inc. announced the appointment of Michael D. Stornant to the position of corporate controller. He will be reporting directly to Donald Grimes, CFO and SVP of Wolverine.
In his new role, Stornant will be directly responsible for the oversight of the company's European and Canadian financial operations, and will be indirectly responsible for the financial oversight of the company's global brand business units and the Global Operations Group. His responsibilities will also include leading the financial forecasting, budgeting and the credit function for all company operations. He will also continue to be directly responsible for the Wolverine Leather Division.
Stornant has been with the company for more than ten years and has held positions of increasing responsibility within Hush Puppies, Corporate Finance and Global Operations. He also served as head of Internal Audit when that function was reinstituted at the company. Most recently, he served in the Global Operations Group where he was vice president of finance and then SVP responsible for all of the company's manufacturing and leather divisions.

Prior to joining Wolverine in 1996, Stornant was with Ernst & Young LLP. He graduated from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and he is a certified public accountant.
