Wolsey, the men's golf apparel brand, hired golf industry veterans Jack Griffith and Nicole (Nikki) Meloeny as sales representatives, respectively servicing the Southwest (CO, AZ, NV, UT) and Midwest regions.
Based in Scottsdale, Griffith’s key sales and management experience includes being among the first Territory Managers hired by Oakley Eyewear. In that role he developed the business and marketing plan introducing Oakley to the prescription (Rx) and golf eyewear markets. A graduate of the University of Arizona, Griffith has also worked for J.Lindeberg, Mizuno, Easton, Ski Haus and other top sports and lifestyle brands.
Most recently Midwest sales rep for J.Lindeberg, Meloeny also serves as Assistant Golf Professional and Golf Shop Manager at Franklin Hills Country Club, a prestigious Donald Ross design located in suburban Detroit. She is a 1998 graduate of the PGM program at Ferris State and recipient of that university’s Women’s Golf Scholarship.
“Our collection’s heritage and great new fabric technologies have already led to strong bookings by discerning merchandisers at top clubs and resorts nationwide,” says Wayne Webster, Wolsey’s Golf Sales Director. “The addition of Jack and Nikki’s expertise will further that process while also helping to ensure our levels of service set the industry standard.”
The Wolsey line which officially premiered at the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show will first ship for Autumn/Winter 2014. Its sophisticated modern garments use traditional British menswear colors in a clean and subtle manner. These combine with minimal and strong textual patterns to create a “less-is-more” aesthetic.
Showcasing a fit that is more middle ground than slim, Wolsey Sportsman is highlighted by performance merino polo’s, base layers, knitwear and pants, as well as breathable, waterproof and multi-layered outerwear. Many pieces rely on Invista THERMOCOOL technology that dual regulates body temperature to ensure the sportswear is “fit for purpose.”
Throughout its history, Wolsey has been worn by historic explorers like Captain Robert Falcon Scott, Roald Amundsen and Sir Ernest Shackleton and sporting greats such as World Golf Hall of Fame members Peter Allis and Tony Jacklin.
Wolsey is currently recreating a team of inspiring pioneers that champion the company’s spirit of adventure and embody the brand’s characteristics. Among the newest additions are European Tour players Robert Rock, Tom Lewis and James Heath, famed designer Johan Lindeberg and noted polar explorer Alex Hibbert.
