The Women's National Basketball Association and Russell Corporation have reached a new multi-year marketing partnership beginning with the 2004 WNBA season. The partnership will focus on the Women's Division of Russell Corporation, which includes products under the Russell Athletic(R) and Moving Comfort(R) brands.

The relationship will promote the importance of fitness and health through a series of events, clinics and promotions. The Women's Division of Russell Corporation will sponsor a new series of WNBA fitness clinics featuring WNBA players and geared towards active women with a focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle through fitness training.

“Part of our business mission is to advocate for and encourage participation in sports for women,” said Cheryl Barre, president of Russell Women's Division. “Our partnership with the WNBA aligns perfectly with our business strategy and our core values. The WNBA offers us the opportunity to support world-class women athletes in the premier women's professional sports league, while at the same time communicating our message to its millions of fans.”

“We are excited to partner with Russell Corporation, a company that prides itself on the quality and value of its products,” said Mary Reiling Spencer, WNBA Vice President, Marketing Partnerships. “The WNBA shares Russell Corporation's belief that it is important for women to stay active and maintain healthy lifestyles by exercising regularly. With this partnership, it will give us an even larger platform to communicate this message to women of all ages.”
