Wilson is building a manufacturing plant in Ada, OH, just east of its current factory that manufactures NFL footballs. The site will double its production capacity.
The new Wilson factory will be 80,000 square feet, with room for additional automation and expansion for the hand-assembly of NFL footballs and quality control of its NBA basketballs.
The company has been manufacturing Wilson NFL leather footballs since 1941. Wilson replaced Spalding as the maker of NBA basketballs in the 2021/22 season.
The new plant will include a retail outlet and is expected to be up and running by May 2024.
