Wigwam Mills has agreed to serve as the official sock of Urban Mudder, the new
athletic challenge founded by event organizer Tough Mudder Inc.

Focused squarely at city dwellers in major metropolitan venues, the Urban Mudder series features 5-mile music-filled courses punctuated with 12-15 custom-designed obstacles. Each course encourages athletes to focus on teamwork, personal accomplishment and fun.

“Urban Mudder is a tremendous opportunity for Wigwam to engage with a whole new segment of athletes, enabling them to experience our innovative sock technology,” said Eric Loferski, Vice President of Marketing for Wigwam, “It’s an ideal platform from which to display the performance and comfort qualities that serve as twin foundations of our line.”Each Urban Mudder participant will receive a pair of custom-made, high-performance Wigwam crew socks designed and produced specifically for the series and featuring Drirelease fibers.

“The Urban Mudder socks were developed to integrate Wigwam’s unique design with Drirelease moisture management technology. They excel at keeping feet dry and blister-free during strenuous workouts and demanding athletic challenges,” continues Loferski, “They also look amazing – our product development team has once again delivered a bold design, one that we’re confident the Urban Mudder finisher will be proud to wear.”

As a third and fourth generation family owned company, Wigwam has designed and manufactured high-performance socks in Sheboygan, WI, since 1905.

Started in 2010 with the launch of the Tough Mudder event series of 10-12 mile military-style obstacle courses, Tough Mudder Inc. has since grown to include Mudderella, an obstacle course series created by women for women; Urban Mudder, a city-based event merging an obstacle challenge with a full-day festival; Fruit Shoot Mini Mudder, a custom event for children ages 7-12; and World’s Toughest Mudder, a grueling 24-hour endurance competition.
