Wahoo Fitness hired Gareth Joyce as CEO and member of its Board of Directors.

Joyce joined the company from Proterra, Inc., where he was the CEO. Before Proterra, Joyce was responsible for one of Delta Air Lines’ largest business units, leading its global ground-based airport operations and cargo business.

Before that, during his 12-year tenure at Mercedes-Benz, he was president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada in his last role and held various senior leadership positions in the U.S., Europe, and South Africa.

“I’m thrilled to join the Wahoo team and look forward to working together to continue the company’s innovation and growth,” commented Joyce. “As an endurance athlete myself, this is an incredible opportunity to combine my passion and my profession at one of the world’s most innovative fitness technology brands.”

Gareth is reportedly a “certified Wahooligan” who is passionate about running and cycling.

“We are delighted to have Gareth join Wahoo as its chief executive officer and a member of our board,” expressed Dave Wichmann, chairman of Wahoo Fitness. “He is an exceptional talent and a proven leader of global companies with distinctive brands and market positions. He comes to Wahoo at a time where it is poised for accelerated growth on a strong financial foundation.”

Chip Hawkins, Wahoo’s founder and board member, said, “This is an incredibly exciting time for Wahoo, and we’re pleased to have Gareth join to help drive our innovation and launch of new market-defining products. I look forward to working closely with Gareth and the board to ensure we achieve our mission of building a better athlete.”
