Voormi, an outdoor brand that advocates for domestically sourced materials along with American manufacturing, expanded its on-site manufacturing capabilities at the company’s hometown headquarters in Pagosa Springs, CO. The move that redirects resources from industry tradeshows toward tangible investments in people, capabilities and accelerated product and technology development. Accordingly, Voormi officials said the brand will not exhibit at the 2017 SIA and Outdoor Retailer Winter Market trade shows.

In doing so, Voormi is more than doubling down on its on-the-ground sewing operations at their Pagosa Springs headquarters, hoping to make a broad-reaching investment in local infrastructure that includes the addition of advanced pattern-making capability, several in-house sewing jobs, 3-D-modeling software and the on-boarding of a third party domestic logistics partner to expand product warehousing and shipping capabilities.

Voormi CEO and Founder Dan English commented, “We’ve watched the industry dance to the fiddle of large tradeshows and overseas suppliers and decided there has to be a better way. We believe the future is in lean production, rapid go-to-market strategies and forging a stronger connection between the Voormi brand, small town USA and our customers. That’s why we have decided to re-direct our resources away from expensive disconnected tradeshows and toward the creation of jobs and the advancement of our product development capabilities.”
