Ironman has announced a new multi-year global partnership with sports apparel company ViewSport to become the Official Recreational Apparel Partner of Ironman. ViewSport will also be the title sponsor for the Ironman Lake Placid triathlon taking place on Sunday, July 28, 2019.
“Over the years, ViewSport has launched innovative high-quality products,” said Jennifer Mocerino, chief merchandise officer for Ironman. “A global partnership between ViewSport and Ironman is a natural fit and will be important in providing quality control for our athletes no matter where in the world they compete in Ironman events.”
As part of the partnership, ViewSport will be the producer and supplier of Ironman event shirts and bags that are provided to registered participants of Ironman and Ironman 70.3 races around the world. ViewSport will also seek to bring further quality control and consistency at Ironman events as the producer and supplier of volunteer shirts.
Additionally, Ironman branded training apparel will be available on Ironmanstore.com, utilizing ViewSport’s sweat-activated technology.
Founded in 2010, ViewSport’s sweat-activated technology reveals a design that is only apparent once sweat encounters the fabric. As the company adds, ‘The harder the wearer works, the more visible the image.’
“ViewSport relates to all kinds of performance athletes, and it’s special to us to be associated with such an iconic brand like Ironman,” said Ben Wood, chief executive officer for ViewSport. “To bring our apparel and technology to the highest level of endurance sports, under the Ironman name, is something we have focused on for some time. We are excited to give these athletes performance apparel that is on par with an Ironman caliber of athlete.”
In addition to becoming the official reactional apparel partner, ViewSport will be the title sponsor on the 2019 ViewSport Ironman Lake Placid Triathlon taking place on Sunday, July 28, 2019. Highlighting the partnership, athletes participating in the event will receive an Ironman event shirt and backpack.
