VF Outdoor Coalition Outlines New Management Roles…

Mike Corvino has been been promoted to president of JanSport. He was most recently VP of sales and merchandising for VF Imagewear. He will report to Mike Egeck, president of VF Outdoor-Americas, whi made the announcement last week amid a flurry of other promotion announcements. The VF Outdoor Coalition includes The North Face, Vans, JanSport, Eastpak, Kipling and Napapijri brands.

Joining Corvino will be Todd Yates, who is now VP of Research, Design & Development and Marketing for JanSport. Yates, who was most recently VP, Marketing and Business Development for The North Face, came to TNF after stints at Woolrich and Columbia. Paula Kosmatka has been promoted to Design Director for JanSport Apparel and Equipment, reporting to Yates. Her most recent role was as Merchandising and Design Directors for The North Face New Business Development.

At the company’s Vans division, Bill Bettencourt, the former co-owner and president of Arena North America, has been appointed VP, Footwear and Equipment. Prior to Arena, Bettencourt held a number of positions at Reebok. He joins former Reebok mates Steve Munn, who is VP of sales, and Steve Murray, who is president of Vans. Terri Miller has been promoted to VP Apparel. Miller, who will also report to Murray, was most recently senior director of Vans Retail Merchandise and Planning. Michael Schulam has been promoted to Category Director, Snow and Outerwear Apparel, Vans, reporting to Miller. Deborah Dyson joins Vans apparel division as Director of Development and Quality Assurance from VF’s Imagewear division.

Also reporting to Egeck will be Mike Boyle, who has joined VF Outdoor as VP/GM of Napapijri Americas. Boyle most recently served as VP sales for the U.S. launch of Victorinox/Swiss Army Apparel.
