VF Imagewear has officially renamed the VF Activewear group as the VF Licensed Sports Group, a division focused on the development of both on-field and licensed sports apparel. Sources inside the company told SEW there were no changes in staff or office locations.
VFC said the VF Licensed Sports Group has seen growth accelerate after the 2007 acquisition of Majestic Athletic and this years opening of a new manufacturing and distribution facility in Easton, PA. The new location consolidates eight smaller facilities.
“This is much more than a division name change, but really a statement about who we are and where we are going. Our mission is to take the strategic goals of leagues and retailers and create winning licensed apparel programs,” said Jim Pisani, president of the VF Licensed Sports Group.
