VF Corp.’s recent filing of its 10-Q report with the SEC provided a bit more detail on individual divisions, including VF’s Outdoor Coalition.

Sales of the combined brands grouped under the outdoor umbrella, The North Face, JanSport, and Eastpack, climbed 24.1% from $100.3 million to $124.6 million. Income from the outdoor division doubled in the first quarter, jumping from $6.9 million last year to $13.9 million this year. Eight percentage points of the sales increase and 26 percentage points of the income increase were due to currency translation.

The Outdoor Coalition was by far the most successful of the four operating divisions. The Consumer Apparel division posted an increase in both sales and income, while Occupational and other posted declines in both metrics.
