After spending the last few years positioning itself as the Jennifer Lopez of the U.S. Outdoor Specialty market, complete with promises made, promises broken, and dates set and cancelled, Vaude now hopes to settle down in a long-term relationship with new U.S. distributor, Liberty Mountain.
Based in Salt Lake City, Liberty Mountain distributes hardgoods, accessories, climbing shoes, and apparel for the outdoor specialty retail market. They are also the exclusive distributors for a number of smaller brands in the market.
The deal calls for Liberty to start selling the Spring 06 Vaude line this year, which they plan to do out of their existing booth at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market. They will be selling Vaudes line of packs, tents, and sleeping bags, along with the Lucky climbing brand and the Markill stove brand.
