Vasque, the outdoor footwear specialist, announced a partnership with Colorado-based San Juan Mountain Guides. Vasque will rely on over 50 years of footwear innovation to outfit the toughest backcountry and ice-climbing guides.
“Vasque has been engrained in the Ouray area for decades, and solidifying this partnership with the San Juan Mountain Guides ensures we’ll have boots on the ground for years to come,” said Joe Peters, head of global marketing at Vasque. “The San Juan Mountain Guides epitomize Trust on the Trail with their guiding and expertise, so we’re honored to be their footwear of choice.”
San Juan Mountain Guides Director Nate Disser added, “We are super stoked about the partnership with Vasque. As part of the partnership, Vasque has also signed on as a founding sponsor of the new Via Ferrata course coming to Ouray in 2018. A Via Ferrata course is a mountain route, equipped with fixed ladders, cables and bridges, making it accessible to climbers and walkers.
Peters added, “We’re passionate about committing as a Platinum level sponsor of the Ouray Via Ferrata as it will do incredible things for the city and citizens of Ouray.”
