Vasque was named the official footwear partner of the 12th annual FloydFest, a roots-rock, art and outdoors celebration.
Over 15,000 music lovers and outdoor enthusiasts are expected to converge in the woods off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Floyd, VA this July 25-28 for the event. Headliners include Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The Lumineers and Yonder Mountain String Band, as well as hiking, biking, trail running, watersports, workshops and more.
As the official footwear and 5k trail race sponsor, Vasque will be on hand to help festival-goers gear up and enjoy all the event has to offer. To kickoff the partnership, Vasque will give away two VIP festival tickets plus two pairs of Vasque shoes, valued up to $1600, through a contest running May 15-June 15 at select outdoor retail stores in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic.
FloydFest is one of the highlights of the summer in the Blue Ridge, says George Curleigh, vice president of Vasque. The festivals combination of music, art and outdoor adventure is a perfect fit for us and its great for Vasque to be a part of it.
Hungry festival-goers will be treated to a free pancake breakfast at the Vasque booth on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27, from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Throughout each day of the festival, the company will offer giveaways and shoes for sale, capped on the final day with the Vasque 5K Trail Race, which gets underway at 9:15 am on Sunday, July 28. The first three male and first three female finishers will win a pair of Vasque Pendulum trail runners. A lightweight, breathable shoe with a full mesh upper, the Pendulum is a top choice for trail runners, but can be called into duty for a range of adventures, in the woods or at a summer festival.
To enter the FloydFest VIP ticket giveaway in stores, contestants just need to try on a pair of Vasque shoes at participating retailers and receive a card to enter the contest online. Participating retail stores include: Walkabout Outfitters Stores, Blue Ridge Mountain Sports, Hudson Trail Outfitters, Mountain Trails, Outdoor Trails, Casual Adventures, Diamond Brand Outdoors, The Trail House, Footsloggers, Rock Fish Gap Outfitters, Mahoneys, Townsend Bertram and Mt. Rogers Outfitters. The winner will be announced June 17.
