At the inaugural Governors ImPAct Award event, Governor Tom Corbett praised Pennsylvania companies and entrepreneurs that are creating jobs and making positive contributions to the states economy. He thanked the nearly 700 person audience for their help in moving Pennsylvania forward and proving that Pennsylvania is open for business.

The awards recognized 50 Pennsylvania companies in five different categories including Jobs First, Community Impact, Small Business Impact, Entrepreneurial Impact, and Export Impact. Nominations were made by regional state economic development partners.

Nominated by Bucknell Universitys Small Business Development Center, Vargo Outdoors was awarded as a finalist for the Entrepreneur Impact Award for Central Pennsylvania. President and CEO Brian Vargo said, It was an honor to be recognized for the growth that our company has achieved in developing new, innovative products for the outdoor industry.

Vargo Outdoors was founded as an online store in 2002, but Vago has since gone on to develop its own line of lightweight backpacking stoves, pots, mugs, campware, water bottles, and lifestyle products.
