Ready for opening day, Vans unveiled two premium snowboard boots created by designers Taka Hayashi and Eley Kishimoto.
In a push to bring high-fashion styling to the laid-back casual vibe of Vans footwear, the new Snowboard Boot Collection highlights what the brand is calling meticulous craftsmanship. Comfort and customization are also key.
Hayashi, the “Vault by Vans” designer, combines the spirit of British design powerhouse Kishimoto to expand creative boundaries and showcase an aesthetic evolution of the popular Vans snowboard boot collection.
Hayashi brings more than a decade of footwear design experience to Vans’ classic heritage boot, the V-66, into a beautifully crafted, refined, leather performance boot. Atop a stylish color-blocked silhouette, Hayashi applied trendy native-inspired motifs on the upper with unique perforated Sidestripe detailing.
Covered in bold “Drums” print, these boots are an energetic interpretation of Vans’ iconic checkerboard pattern.
As a part of Vans global women’s collaboration story, the company turned to British fashion duo Eley Kishimoto to create the snowboard boot’s vibrant aura. Covered in a bold “Drums” print, the boots are an energetic interpretation of Vans’ iconic checkerboard pattern. Espousing by the creed, “Print the World,” Eley Kishimoto is renowned for aspirational aesthetics and a graphic approach, expressing a mission in sync with Vans striving for authenticity and creative self-expression.
Celebrating 50 years of influential Vans heritage in 2016, the Vans Snow collection is supported by a full collection of Mountain Edition apparel and footwear that welcomes the seasons with weatherized technologies and rider-tunable snowboard boots. The company continues to focus on customization, promoting the best fit for comfortable riding.
The special project by Hayashi and Eley Kishimoto, along with the entire 2015-16 Snowboard Boot collection, are available now online.
