Vail Resorts named Robert Urwiler as senior vice president and chief information officer of the company. Urwiler will assume his responsibilities on August 21, 2006, and will office in the Company’s new headquarters in Broomfield, Colo.

Urwiler, 43, is a 20-year veteran in corporate information technology management. Most recently, he was senior vice president and chief information officer of Macromedia, a $500 million software company acquired by Adobe Systems. From 1999-2002, he was senior vice president and chief information officer at Peregrine Systems, now a Hewlett-Packard company. Prior to Peregrine Systems, Urwiler also served in IT leadership roles at Scientific-Atlanta and Sprint, and was a management consultant to Price Waterhouse. He has led teams of more than 200 IT professionals and managed budgets in excess of $50 million.

As CIO of Vail Resorts, Urwiler will be responsible for all aspects of the Company’s information technology, including business application delivery, eCommerce capability development, IT operations and network management.

Urwiler holds a doctorate in information systems from Nova Southeastern University and a master’s degree in technology management from Mercer University. He and his wife, Carla, have two daughters.
