Urban Climber Magazine and The International Council for Competition Climbing (UIAA) have entered into a multi-year strategic partnership. Effective immediately, Urban Climber Magazine becomes UIAA Climbing's Official Magazine Partner in North America, providing comprehensive UIAA Climbing event coverage in the Magazine, online and on UCTV, and UIAA Climbing will make copies of the Magazine available to their 66 National Federations and over 7000 athletes worldwide.

“Urban Climber Magazine has gained prominence with its focus on youth climbers and the competition scene,” said UIAA President Marco Scolaris. “We are proud to be partnering with Urban Climber Magazine and to begin raising the profile of UIAA events and athletes to a North American audience, where we believe expectations are very high.”

Urban Climber Magazine will serve as the official magazine partner to UIAA Climbing in North America, reporting on UIAA Climbing events, and also working with UIAA Climbing, the National Federations and their registered athletes to develop editorial features for the Magazine. Additionally, UIAA Climbing will provide the global climbing community access to a centralized, video channel of UIAA event footage utilizing Urban Climber Magazine's online video network 'UCTV' – www.urbanclimbermag.tv.

“Most of our country's competitive climbing community has been secluded from the world's most advanced circuit due to a lack of coverage. The UIAA, a platform that has been instrumental in defining the competitive arena and placing climbers among the world's most elite athletes, is huge everywhere else. We need to introduce this “bigger picture” to our youth, give them a reason to grow as climbers and continue to move in a forward direction collectively,” said Joe Iurato, Urban Climber Magazine's Editor.

As part of the multi-year partnership, UIAA Climbing will make Urban Climber Magazine available to their 66 National Federations and over 7000 registered athletes worldwide. The Magazine will also be distributed to events throughout the International calendar, including World Championships, Youth Cups, World Cups, and other continental events.

“As competition climbing is growing as a sport and as a world-wide sports movement, we're delighted to be adding the UIAA as a partner and expanding the reach of our magazine,” said Mark Crowther, Publisher of Urban Climber Magazine.
