Dick’s House of Sport To Open In Upstate New York

Dick’s Sporting Goods plans to open a Dick’s House of Sport location at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City, NY. The 140,000-square-foot location is expected to be the retailer’s largest. 

EXEC: Athleta’s Sales Slump On Athleisure Softness

Athleta’s same-store sales slumped 8 percent in the second quarter due to a demand shift from athleisure to occasion and work-based categories as well as some fashion miscues on spring/summer product. On an analysts’ call, Bobby Martin, interim CEO of Athleta’s parent, Gap Inc., remained confident Athleta would return to its mid-teens growth target.

Anta Sports Sees 13 Percent Growth In Six Months

Hong Kong-based Anta Sports Products Limited reported a slight decline in profits in the six months ended June 30 as lower gross margins offset a 13.8 percent climb in sales. Amer Sports showed a 23.2 percent sales gain.
