Under Armour is laying off about two dozen employees in its Connected Fitness segment, according to the Baltimore Sun. The affected employees are located primarily in Copenhagen, the home base of the social fitness app Endomondo.
The Connected Fitness platform powers the world’s largest digital health and fitness community through a suite of applications: UA Record, MapMyFitness, Endomondo and MyFitnessPal. Endomondo was acquired in 2015. The Connected Fitness division headquarters are in Austin.
“Under Armour has made adjustments to the Connected Fitness business to leverage operational efficiencies,” Under Armour said in a statement to the Baltimore Sun. “This realignment is part of an ongoing strategic alignment to position the business for more consistent long-term growth.”
Under Armour has about 15,000 employees worldwide and has hired about 150 people since January, a company spokesperson said.
