Ultra Running Company announced the closing of its location in 110 West Blvd. in the South End neighborhood of Charlotte, NC. Ultra Running’s original location at Providence and Providence in Myers Park will remain open.

The South End store opened in 2016.

Ultra Running said on its Facebook page, “We’re disappointed to announce that Ultra Running Company – SouthEnd is now permanently closed.

“The health and wellness of our staff and customers continue to be the driving force behind our efforts at #URC, and we’re incredibly disappointed not to see an opportunity to reopen #URCSouthEnd safely and effectively moving forward. Change happens, and it’s hitting close to home for our team this time.

“We are appreciative of our friends and neighbors in the  Southend Charlotte community and hope each and every one of you will make the 2.5 mile run to Myers Park to visit us at our flagship store where we’re open every day and continue to stock the city’s best selection of road and trail running shoes, athletic clothing and amazing running-related gear & necessities.

“Thank you to all the great folks who made #SouthEnd a home. We have loved being a part of the community for the last few years, and appreciate your excitement and interest over the past two months over the possibility of the location opening up again post-Phase II shutdown. Sadly, that is not in the cards. 110 West Boulevard has been a labor of love since 2016, and we have been excited to open the doors each and every day. We look forward to seeing you all and continuing that excitement in #MyersPark soon.”
