On Thursday, Oct. Ugg Australia will celebrate the opening of the first Toronto store with an exclusive VIP shopping event.  Situated at 23 St. Thomas Street in the historic shopping district of Yorkville, the 3,060 square foot space will open its doors to the public on Friday, Oct. 14th.  From 6-8pm, guests will enjoy champagne, light bites and music by DJ Justin Shaw.   A first full look at the new UGG for Men and Women’s fall 2011 collections along with the debut of UGG Collection will be on site.

“This marks our first UGG Australia concept store in Toronto. Yorkville is a premier shopping destination and we are thrilled to be a part of the city,” said Constance X. Rishwain, president of UGG Australia, in a statement.

The space uses elements taken from the brand's surf heritage to better display the full range of all collections.  Natural zebra wood fixtures are inspired by vintage surf boards, Champagne metal finishes resemble the early morning sunrise and frosted glass touches mimic tumbled glass found on the beach.

In 1978, the story of UGG began in Southern California and is now is a global brand loved by all.  Expanding within Canada, UGG will open a store in Vancouver in late October 2011.  Eleven concept stores are located in the US and include New York, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Georgetown, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Honolulu.  UGG Australia concept stores are located globally in Moscow, London, Manchester, Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo.
