The Sports Authority plans to open a 43,000 square foot store in a former Joe’s Sports & Outdoors location in Issaquah, WA, at the Town and Country Shopping Center by late spring. TSA’s website shows that stores were recently opened in former Joe’s locations in Lake Stevens and Seattle in the state.
Sports Authority operates several stores in the Puget Sound region, with the Crossroads Mall store in Bellevue as the closest outpost to Issaquah. In all, it now operates 13 stores in Washington.
Dick’s Sporting Goods has said it plans to open its first Washington store this spring at a former Joe’s location at the South Hill Mall in Puyallup. Dick’s SG recently opened six stores in Oregon in many former Joe’s location and now has seven in that state.
Joe’s liquidated its last remaining 31 stores in the region last spring after being unable to find a buyer or financing in bankruptcy proceedings.
