Trew Gear, a backcountry ski apparel brand, has raised $1.6 million in capital to expand its product line, staff, and direct-to-consumer operations, the Portland Business Journal reported.

BroadPeak Capital, formerly known as Skyline Capital, made the investment, according to the report by the Portland Business Journal. Trew will use the capital to relocated its operations from Hood River, OR, to a larger space in southeast Portland.

Trew Gear was founded by Tripp Frey in 2008 to create waterproof breathable outerwear for the cold and wet conditions found in the Pacific Northwest mountains.
